Super Mario Kart

What better way to demonstrate my love of Super Mario Kart than with a ‘Videogaming for the Blind’ stylee quiz - see how many of the race circuits you can identify from the words that I am speaking out of my mouth. Answers at the bottom of the page, pop-pickers!

Kart

So, how many did you get? Three out of five? Four out of five? If you’ve played it as much as I have, then you probably got all five with ease.

You see, 14 years on from its release and, not just the five tracks above but the other fifteen as well, are indelibly etched on my gaming memory. It’s testament to the game/track design and playability that I could probably recall and describe, without actually having the game on in front of me as I have done here, every twist and turn, every coin, every green pipe, every power-up block, every fucking stupid mole, in fact, every single square inch of that game, now and until the day I die.

Forget Super Mario World, Mario 64 or Zelda: Ocarina of Time. For me, Super Mario Kart is Shigeru Miyamoto and, arguably, Nintendo’s finest hour.

Answers:
Course One - b)
Course Two - a)
Course Three - b)
Course Four - c)
Course Five - c)
