#38 Well-meaning but shit religious preachware:
Ahh Christ* but it's getting hard to choose winners. Let me just say now that had the challenge been 'create the funniest piece of religious themed software with a Nun's bare arse in it' then Russ's quite astonishing 'Monty on the Nun' would have walked this week's competition. There were quite a few images that had me either pissing myself (Russ - 'Dizzy Cuts a Deal' and Cippy's 'Ark Annoyed' and all of Thalamus's entries this week) or thinking 'that's cool, I want to play it ('Pro Creation Soccer 3' by Surfr, Russ's 'Pontius Pilotwings' and the awesome 'Dali Llamatron' by Thalamus) but the brief was for authentic attempts to make religion cool.
Supreme among those images nailing** the brief was Histor's fantastic 'Doom III - Good News Version. I can just imagine a confused C-of-E vicar wondering why the Burberry cap'd thugs down the local youth club tried to set him alight after he swapped their copy of 'Devil May Cry' for this game. Error gave us so many terrific images this week that it got me wondering if his past hides some deep-dark church-related secret. 'REZurrection' looks so cool that it might even, scarily, get players
accidentally
playing the story of Jesus (assuming that the bible has a weird large running man made out of pixels, and an evil computer in it - actually, thinking about it, sometimes I do get 'The Bible' and 'The Lawnmower Man' mixed up). Between them K-J N and Fil came-up with a pant-pissing selection of classic 'Horace' images that just had to figure in the top 3 - 'Horace Goes To Mount Sinai' feels like it might even have actually existed. Genius all.
