Euro 2012
  • Chris got so annoyed with Mark Lawrenson last night that he actually put the CBBC commentary on for a bit. It sounded like we were listening in to a group of students, and not very smart ones at that. Unless it was the puppet dog who was trying to explain the off-side rule...

Is there a window about 15 floors up which over looks Big Ben?

You'd need to be inside the clock tower for that, silly.

Me and Hammond were watching the Italy game and as soon as Lawrenson opened his mouth we simultaneously proclaimed our utter hatred for the man. Absolutely talentless fuckwit.

I was using Big Ben as a colloquial term for the tower, not as a nickname for the bell, or indeed my bellend, Captain Pedant.

    See this...

You are my hero. If you could arrange to bump into him near a cliff next time, I'd probably kiss you.

Or at least sang quietly "Going down, going down, going down..."

On the day when he got locked up, when it was announced on the news we downed tools at work and immediately went to the pub to celebrate.
  • ELIZABETH TOWER YOU HEATHENS!
  • The one fact rocky remembers from his trip to London, that.
  • He also recalls the streets being paved with gold.

Also, little Billy Hague *is* under that bridge -- where else can a troll live?
  • Holloway Road?
  • I don't know anyone who lives on Holloway Road.
  • Ian Holloway. Probably.
  • Nah, I just think the road's named after him.
  • I don't know anyone who lives on Holloway Road.

    It's not a place, it's a state of mind.

  • If you've ever been in the Coronet - *you* live on Holloway road now.
  • Jack Torrance thought the Coronet was a bit much.
  • Amazingly, this fits right into this line of conversation.

And I find it quite upsetting, to be honest. Cutting in pre-recorded sections of the fans and acting if it's live is crass and unimaginative. It's taking one of sport's greatest assets and replacing with reality tv.
  • Wow. That's Shit.
  • Film Editors, you can't trust 'em!
  • It's more pathetic that she was crying at the national anthem.
  • Both Ely and Chad make valid points.
