Friday 3rd February 2012 - Rodent "where you been?" sort of awards
  • It would be easier for Ed to go back to his place than stay at yours, you non-London-living-mofo you.
  • Oh, and aside from suit shopping with Kentish on the Saturday, any other rodent activities?
  • I would pose the same question mate. Happy to do whatever.

    Besides bumming Rocky of course.
  • You don't bum Rocky. Rocky bums you.

    what?
Well, while it will be the official rodent awards gathering, there wont be the same level of jazz as usual. This part is up to *you* guys. Yes, *you*. (not you, no, the guy behind. further. bit to the right. THAT's IT YOU.)

Also this: I vote that we leave this all to a committee, chaired by Twisted. Budgie can take minutes on his phone, and we'll draw sub committee chairmen from a hat. Steve Maibock is in charge of catering, Steve PVB will take care of formal attire on the night, and Petee will orchestrate a live link to Australia, broadcasting via Stevo's beard in Perth.

    What could possibly go wrong!

  • for the catering, will I be in charge of a team of scantily clad serving wenches?

    if not, can I?
  • As long as they are serving cheesesteaks!
  • you got it!
  • I'm around all day Friday, so if anyone wants to meet up for some lunch/drinks or whatever, hit me up.

Come and meet me for lunch round the Golden Square.

  • Mrs T says "why would I want to spend my Friday evening with a bunch of sweaty videogame playing men?"

I have no answers. She makes a good point.
  • @morgan -- too fucking right sexy!
  • @TT: I'm not standing for that.

Some of the women are sweaty too.

That Wii Balance Board's to blame.
  • If Mission Impossible is still on at the BFI IMAX, I'll probably book to see that in the early afternoon, then on to the pub afterwards.

    Cool.

  • Jax is not joining me for this, so I'll happily take a sofa somewhere if that is ok. The plan is to catch the train up early (or possibly at lunchtime from Plymouth), and then head back to Penzance late on Saturday night, to facilitate suit stuff and afternoon boozes if available.
  • Still no bookings at Casa del Sexington.
  • I'm up for Casa Sexington if I'm definitely down - I'll have to check with my workmate what's happening with this work trip when he gets back on Tuesday.
  • I'd be up for Casa del Sexngton too, but first need to check when I get to work tomorrow to see if I can book the day off.
  • Right, I'm confirmed for this. Got a half day, so will be crashing into London about 5pm - so straight into town for some drinkage in that case. Happy (and grateful) to kip with any of the London Rodents.
  • Only Just picked up on this, been a bit out of the loop. Now, this just might work, a plan might be coming together. Have to go up to Bristol to pick up a car, at the end of feb, then was hoping to nip up to High Wycombe to see my Dad who's pretty poorly. A trip into London from there wouldn't be beyond the possibilities. I wonder...

I'd have room for you if you needed it.

But this is on the 3rd Feb. :-]
  • Ah. Meant end of Jan!
  • Sorted then. :-)
  • Call me Mr Leftfield, but aren't we a bit obsessed with London as a meety-up venue? I work there so it's no skin off my nose, but I feel for the chaps elsewhere as it involves trains/cars/hotels/hassle.

Wouldn't we be better off in Brum or somewhere like that? Do the majority of Rodents live in the smoke? if so fair enough, but I suspect it's not the case..

To be fair, due to the slightly mental trains system it takes less time for me to get to London than it does to Birmingham. Wouldn't be true if you were in a car of course.

  • Right, looks like I'm on for this and down for the weekend as well.
  • Hooray for me!
  • Things gearing up nicely, everyone ready? Voted for your game of the year yet?
  • Well you wouldn't would you.
  • I've not, I don't like or play games anymore :-)
  • Right, trains booked. I'm getting into Paddington Bear at half five - where do I need to go?

At 93 pounds, this had better be an entertaining affair, or I'm off. ;)

Suit fitting booked for 2pm in that there Canary Wharf. Birds being hit with one stone here.
  • Don't they have a Burtons in Penzance?

    I thank you sir.

I may partake of an ale or two.

They do. But I require something so sharp that you could shave with it. Or, at the very least, slice off the head of a Northern PEASANT!

  • Ahh, so it's for a forthcoming court appearance is it?
  • The Court of Matrimony!
  • Plead not guilty!
  • Balls, yet another Awards slips by, one year dammit.
  • What's the best train to get to the venue from Slough?

    Paddington then tube?
  • It's central London, nearest stations being Tottenham court road, Oxford Circus or Charring X probably
  • Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square ain't too far either.
  • Morgy, you still wanna do lunch on Friday?
  • I'll be looking to be in town for about 2pm incidentally.
  • I finish uni at one, so I'll meet you Rockford.
