If anybody has a Playstation + account and hasn't checked out the freebies this month it might be worth having a look? The free games this month include Infamous 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse. -
Dont know about the other games, but strangers wrath is all shiny and hd. Didn't get the 3d makeover treatment of sands of time or icon but that doesn't matter.
Did anyone mention - *free* with ps plus or a tenner without. Buy a three month sub and get the other freebies for nothing! -

The safer choice is a slim as the fat can die due to overheating or something (as some members of the forum will attest). I had a launch Japanese fat for years with no issues (and a couple of friends still have them and haven't had anything go wrong), but better safe than sorry I reckon.

That's a question only the individual can answer. As a proud PS2 owner, the backwards-compatibility means nothing to me.

Cor. Hard wiring the PS3 directly into the router makes a hell of a difference in download speeds over wireless. Just browsing around the store is much zipper. Managed to download Motorstorm Apocalypse in about 50 mins.

I ended up trying that a few days ago because of something really annoying with Play station Plus.
I must have tried downloading Little Big Planet 2 about a dozen times and every time it failed around the same point. Strangely the download for Dead Space 2 which is more than double the size worked first time.
I ended do up doing the download at work and it worked first time. Makes no sense at all as i've never had any problems with downloads at home on the 360. -
For the Playstation + people, the free games available are
Borderlands
Just Cause 2
Lara Croft GOL
Dead Space 2
plus the same ones available a couple of weeks ago such as Deus Ex and LBP2. -
Gametrailers has a seven minute preview of Beyond: Two Souls, which shows a bit more of what the game's about.

They've been given ten free codes by the devs Eutechnyx and have 3 left as I type this.
The moderator has the codes and probably won't accept your application until later (as he's away from his computer until 10pm), so you might be too late, but you never know. :-) -

Speaking of PS3s:
Does anyone have a spare Component video cable or somesuch for a PS3? The telly the kids use for their gaming has a knackered HDMI port so need something else. -

@PVB I downloaded Nascar with the Plus discount and it's actually not bad. I know that's faint praise but I rate Papyrus' Nascar 2003 sim highly. Two very different games so they don't compare favourably.
