Game of the Year - The Shortlist
So here are our six best games of 2007. Best? Most important? Most worthy? Its tough to define the criteria for our shortlist of the six games we want to compete for Game of the Year – broadly we’ve looked for games that combined extraordinary enjoyment, innovation and that trickiest of things: emotion.
It didn’t help either that there were easily 16 games we could have included on this shortlist – 2007 has been an amazing vintage for gaming. Most of us here are well into our 30s, we remember 1978, we remember the C64 and the Spectrum, Amiga and ST – we’ve seen the glory years and we reckon they are now.
Six games we love, six games we feel deserve to be considered for Rodent’s Game of the Year 2007… over the next month we will publish a series of articles arguing for each. The first of those are included in this issue… let battle commence!
