Mario games? Never been reviewed properly. Until now
By Fredster / Rockwaldo (dad)
As you can imagine, as an 9 year old there are a lot of games that you miss out on, no more obvious than with the mario series. Fredster's first mario game was probably Mario Galaxy and he immediately fell in love with the game - the characters, the worlds, the lot. So, eager for more he found that there were a whole wealth of games that he had to catch up on. So he did. In the name of science here are his results.
Each game is rated out of 5 stars. A dash means he didn't play it or at least can't remember doing so. Anyway, here we are..

The list was a combined effort between the Fredster and me and although I wasn't sure about the addition of the Mario Kart and the Paper Mario games he insisted that a line across the page would not only avoid confusion but justify their inclusion.
There are clearly some controversial entries and no mistake - the original Mario Kart being a fine example. "It's too hard" was his reasoning.
Interestingly, I questioned the 5 star showing for super paper mario wii and it did show a flaw in his reasoning that may devalue the reviews somewhat. The reason super paper mario wii was a 5 star game was because "Luigi's powers were really good and you could get through some of the levels easily".
Also, looking at the list - the Fredster is a harsh taskmaster indeed. He absolutely LOVED Mario Kart Wii, yet gave it 2 stars. When I asked why, he said "the blue shell ruins it and it makes me angry".
This is true, I have actually seen him throw down the Wii controller and send himself to bed for a while to calm down. He would then come down half hour later and be all refreshed. Brilliant work son, brilliant work.
Ultimately though, I was still offended by the Mario Kart score but he stood firm. he played it again on my insistance and I could see in his eyes that he was weighing up whether it was worth the punishment to slap me flat in the face. Harsh but fair.
