IoM#63: General Election Games.

X marks the spot.
With your host Swith

They say never start a conversation about religion or politics. As the two are the same in America, everyone only talks about sport and boobies. It’s not quite as simple in England. When general election time comes around, everyone eagerly reads all the information each party puts out about their policies and plans, avidly watches all the party political broadcasts, then votes for whoever looks better on telly. Fair play though, it’s a mixed bag of parties we can vote for. One can choose from socialists, anarchists, communists, nationalists, and of course, Kilroy.

It’s easy to get yourself down about the whole event. The suspicion that it doesn’t actually matter who you vote for, the agenda of long planned wars and European inevitability will be exacted regardless. That’s why it’s a good idea to forget all about the whole ghastly affair - chill out and play some games with some friends. Start wars you can finish, shoot people who don’t really die. Whatever you do though this month, don’t forget to vote.

Gold

Swith
That’s right, folks! I’ve given myself the Gold this month. Not that I thought that my image was better than anyone else’s, I just felt like treating myself. Feels good, actually.

Silver

Ski-ing holidays? Poncey name? Blue? Horace is a card-carrying member of the Conservative party, and I claim my five pounds.

Bronze

Aureole
Don’t you think Kilroy would make a good frontier town cowboy? I do. With his weathered face, silver hair and distrust of Indians, I think he’d fit right in.
