It's all been fucking done before.

Another exhibition of videogame related graphical musing opens at the gallery de rodent on the basement floor of Rodent Towers.
Over the last month, our readers have been chewing the end of someone else’s pen trying to come up with what our favorite current generation console games would have looked like were they have been released 20 years earlier.
Let’s see what they’ve come up with shall we, my little trouts?
Gold

Russ
Resident Evil 4 Text Adventure.
The promise of his copy of Resident Evil 4 might have originally bribed me to reward Russ with Gold, but I’m sure you’ll all agree he’d have won it anyway. I’m still having it though.
Silver

Evilpaul
Final Fantasy X – Spectrum.
It’s funny because it’s true.
Bronze

Acronym
Tony Hawks Amateur Skater.
We love this little guy.
And the runners up…
Chris Covell

I played Wind Waker to see the World!
And what did I see?
The cunting Sea.

Polarium (Chokkan Hitofude) ’83 – only marginally less frustrating than the real thing..
KidCasio

You know, this would have worked.

There are off-licenses in Brixton where you can buy any controlled substance just by asking with a certain glint in your eye. Russ went there the other day looking for Crème de Menthe. We still haven’t heard from him
Chad Sexington

Should have tried picking them up…
Brass Monkey

Mario and Luigi in “glory hole graffiti” shocker. Frankly, we’ll publish anything that implies Mario’s suppressed tendancies…
NZ Story

NZStory informs us that King of 8Bit Fighter 2005 is available for Amstrad CPC464, 664, 6128. Also available on Spectrum 48K, Commodore 64, BBC Micro, Sega SC-3000 and PSP Handheld. PC Release in November (CGA graphics card or better required).
Chris Covell

Chris puts his finger on Nintendo’s revolution…

Full Spectrum Warrior… *GROAN!*
Evilpaul takes us inside the much sought after Sinclair Research astand at E3…

Sure, the hardware demo looked very impressive… all those ducks rendered in real time.

The in-game footage almost looked too good. Some might say, a little like a pre-render…

Ah. Now we see that maybe the demos weren’t *quite* running on genuine hardware.
Error

Lets be honest now, who wouldn’t want this? It looks amazing!
Anders

By far the best of the glut of Halo entries we had this month.

In her efforts to outperform all other boob queens, past or present, Britney Spears shrewdly brought Epyx back from the dead and hired them to port smash hit 'Britney's Dance Beat' to the C64, hoping this would make people forget about the C64 classic 'Samantha Fox Strip Poker'.
Sparing no expense, she got the rights to exclusive tracks for this edition, as you can see from this cover scan.

Epyx said that some minor changes had to be made in order to make it run on the C64, but that the core experience was intact. Here's a screenie.

Neon ’82 – The simple ones are often the best. Download it now from…

Unreal Tournament 1984 – Uncannily accurate representation of the gameplay too.
Mayhem

Mayhem turns out a neat take on GTA in what has turned into a recurring theme this month…
Skweek

Skweek presents us the original packaging for Duke Nukem Forever.

Soul Caliber ‘88

Aw man. Bonus kudos to the first person to write this in Blitz.
